I've lived in Elizabeth for 10 years. I love the rural town mindset and want to keep Elizabeth a great local community. I grew up in small towns and I have finally returned to a community with a true home-town feel. I love living in a place that has me two minutes from the grocery store and gym. In 30 seconds I can get to the post office! Living in Elizabeth keeps me in my own home and in a great neighborhood! I love my neighbors. Elizabeth is my hometown. Elizabeth is where I choose to live.
I was born in Pennsylvania, moved to Colorado in 1975, graduated high school from Fruita Monument High School in Fruita, Colorado and have a college degree from DU. I am a proud grandmother to three, mom to three daughters, the best dog ever and one crazy inside kitty. My neutered pets are rescues and may be slightly spoiled!
Trusted to responsibly serve thousands of taxpayers as a publicly elected municipal official and special district director. A whole lot of people I don't know personally had faith in me to spend their hard-earned tax dollars in a fiscally responsible fashion. A role I took to heart and believe in reverently.
I was elected to and served two four-year terms as a Town Council member in Parker from 2002-2010. I also served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Parker Water and Sanitation District for two years. I served on the Parker Parks and Recreation Commission, Parker Cultural Commission and on the Parker Arts Council. I was a member of the Board of Directors of the Cherry Creek Basin Water Quality Authority for eight years. While on Council I served as a liaison to DRCOG, (Denver Regional Council of Governments), the Parker Senior Center, Land Development Revision Committee, the Douglas County Youth Initiative and
Parker Cultural Commission.
The people's business should always be conducted in an open, accessible environment with complete transparency. I like to ask questions and am always searching for additional knowledge. Asking questions allows me to do that. I am not a rubber stamp and will always give my thoughts and insight into whatever is being discussed. My job is to say "No" when the situation is not beneficial or fiscally responsible for the Town.
